Developed
at the request of some of the world's biggest users of mainframe-based
computing, (who wanted a structured qualifications path for their
employees, in order to assess their ongoing development and to
determine recruitment and promotion), the BCS MTP series of qualifications
is already well established in the UK, with many organisations
sponsoring their technical personnel to sit the examinations.
The BCS Mainframe Technology Professional
Qualifications are achieved by sitting technical examinations
that assess and benchmark skills and capabilities within the mainframe
environment.
Each examination is run over one day in strict examination conditions. In each exam the
candidates' knowledge of the topics is tested using a variety
of question styles. Using a web-based interface, questions are
randomly selected for each candidate from a 'bank' of questions.
This system is highly secure and ensures that candidates taking
similar tests simultaneously will receive different questions.
The examinations have been developed and written
by leading industry experts with many years of experience working
in mainframe-based computing environments across the world. Each
examination has been carefully peer-reviewed by experts to ensure
the levels and the areas covered are appropriate. The programme is run under the governance
of BCS (a globally recognised qualifications authority) and is
therefore independent of all software and hardware vendors, whilst
also enjoying the recognition and support of many, including IBM. |
