The Level 1 grade (MTP Technical Support & Operations Technician) is achieved through an examination that tests candidates’ knowledge and grounding in the mainframe environment at foundation level, testing the knowledge and skills essential for personnel to be able to make a productive contribution.

The Level 1 grade (Application Developer) is achieved through an examination that tests the essential skills required by programmers working with z/OS systems as well as the programming design & testing skills required to develop applications.

The Level 2 grade (MTP Specialist in particular disciplines) is achieved through a variety of examinations, each one specific to the candidates’ chosen career path and discipline.

The Level 3 grade (MTP Consultant in particular disciplines) is again achieved through a range of examinations, each one testing the candidates’ advancement and depth of expertise in their chosen area.
